For history and architectural lovers, Trizay is the perfect reflection of the Charente-Maritime Department and is among one of the jewels of the Saintonge Romanesque art : the Saint Jean l'Evangeliste Priory, courantly named "the Abbey". The building was perfectly restored and the church ruins, with its enigmatic floor plans, blond colored stones and medieval gardens will no doubt carry you several centuries back in time... Only a few kilometers from the hotel, discover the religious, architectural and coastal heritage of the area : the historical cities of Rochefort, Saintes and La Rochelle, the Vauban fortifications lining the coast from the headland of the Re Island to the tip of the Oleron island through Brouage, a citadel stranded in the heart of the marshes, the Romanesque churches built in each Saintonge villages and the castles of La Roche Courbon, Crazanne, and la Gataudière...
